kolkopkpokipoi` 1954 the civil rights act began. There was slavery, segregation and wars. From 1954 to 1968 unfairness seemed to be ruling the world. There were thousands of events that occurred and people who stood up for what was right to try to stop it all. And if it weren't for every little thing that happened to destroy segregation, the world would still wake up to be the bloody cruel unfairness that occurred every second of the day during the civil right act. Today, you get encouraged to go out of your comfort zone, stand up for what's right, and no matter what be yourself. 1954 to 1968- You were killed or sent to jail for all of that. But those depressing, horrible events, brave courage's people, they fought and risked it all, to eventually end it at last. And one of those very important people and events that put the stop to it for good, was the 16th street church bombing. On September 15, 1963 there was a historical disaster that helped change man kind. It was called the 16th street church bombing. It was a Sunday morning, 10:22 am, at the African American Birmingham baptist church. Church had started and 4 African american girls, Addie Mae Collins, 14, Denise Mcnair, 11, Carole Rosemond Robertson, 14, Cynthia Diana Morris, 14, were all participating in the church events. Addie and Denise were both singing in the choir, Carole and Cynthia were ushering for it. After the singing an ushering was over they were all down in the basement to change out of there choir uniforms when the bomb exploded. It killed all four girls. It also injured 22 other church guest. It put a gigantic hole in the basement of the church and caused much more harm as well. But after the bombing event occurred, a whole other explosion set in. After all of what has happened in the past with the civil rights act that has been going on for quite a while, people were fed up. Most African Americans broke out in ragging anger against the white. There was fighting, screaming, beating. Lots of people ended up getting sent to jail, or worse, shot by police. It took them till October 8, 1963 to deal with the case of the bombing. They started to think that the Ku Klux Klan was responsible for the bomb in the church, specifically four men, Bobby Frank Cherry, Thomas Blanton, Herman Frank Crash, and Robert Chambiss. They were all part of the KKK and Robert was the one that actually planted the bomb in the church basement. After most of the events drama fated away, word starting spreading around the towns faster and bigger every day. No one wanted to do it anymore. Even the White. No one wanted to walk out side and continue to see the despicable world they were still living in. The fights at every corner of the street, police cars swarmed at almost every block in the town. Hearing the the deadly scream from a child or parent, that was about to get beaten or shot. The settle tears streaming down everyone face like a waterfall. And then what? People would rage out in anger and the whole disastrous thing that just happened would occur all over again. Nobody wanted it and the 16th street bombing event, it was like a big slap in the face for everyone who herd, saw or read about to wake up and realize what the world was still made of. The KKK, they set the bomb. They did it on purpose, to kill, to harm several innocent lives. Why? Because the church was an all African American church, because the people there were different. And the 16th street church bombing, it told them that it was time for a change, a big change, that could end segregation discrimination, forever. July 2,1964 President Lynn Johnson signed the civil right act for equal right of all African American. It prohibited segregation and discrimination in all public places, schools, restaurants, employment, and more. 1964, it was officially illegal and immediately dealt with with severe consequences when still occurred. It was on of the biggest civil right legislation ever. And then finally, after many years of still keeping a good eye out of the church bombing incident, in November in 1977, 2000 the FBI stated that it officially was proven that it was the 4 men fault over the bombing and death of the 4 innocent, African american girls. Crash was already dead but the other three immediately got arrested for there vicious behavior. If it weren't for every event or person out there that participated in ending discriminating and segregation, who knows were the world would be today. The civil right act went on for many years but the 16th street church bombing was the one what put it over the edge. The whole 16th street church bombing, the 4 girls death, it focused on public attention on racial violence in the south. And yes it was a historical disaster that most everyone never wanted to happen But everything happens for a reason. look wear we are now, if it never happened, I'm honestly not sure were we would be right now. Those 4 innocent African american girls meant immense importance to everyone, not just their loved one and family, because they were everyone's saviors, and still are
